HPU - Summer 2026

Sustainability in the palm of your hands.
Founded by sisters Belle and Zoe, Kumu Ko is a Honolulu-based studio with a plan to make luxury stationery from Hawaiʻi’s invasive plants, like Albizia. We’re creating 100% biodegradable cards and envelopes for special occasions and life’s greatest milestones. Our goal is to make paper that honors the land by returning to it once it has served its purpose. We are currently in the Research and Development (R&D) phase. Our next step is testing different fiber-blend formulas and sizing recipes. We want to make sure that when we launch, the paper is high-performance and high-quality, so your pens and Sharpies glide smoothly without any bleeding. Our roadmap includes partnering with local conservation crews to harvest invasive plants from cleared restoration sites. Rooted in aloha ʻāina, Kumu Ko by Belle & Zoe is all about making sure beautiful design and environmental healing happen at the same time.
Kumu Ko by Belle & Zoe is developing luxury, 100% biodegradable stationery crafted from responsibly sourced invasive plant fibers, beginning with species like albizia. Our planned collection includes premium greeting cards, handcrafted pop-up cards, journals, and paper goods for individuals, special occasions, weddings, businesses, and resorts. Every purchase helps transform an environmental challenge into beautiful products that support education, conservation, and aloha ʻāina.
